This Data Protection & Consent notice explains the legal basis on which A & M Nexus Consulting Limited ("A & M Nexus", "we", "us") processes your personal data, and records the consent you give us when you use our services. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. We handle personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
1. Our commitment
We process personal data lawfully, fairly and transparently, collect it only for clear and legitimate purposes, keep it accurate and up to date, hold only what we need, retain it no longer than necessary, and keep it secure.
2. The data we process
To deliver our services we process your identity and contact details, academic and work history, supporting documents (such as your passport, certificates, transcripts and proof of funds), payment records, and your communications with us. Some of this โ for example documents revealing nationality or health information required by a destination โ may be sensitive personal data, which we handle with additional care and only where necessary for your application.
3. Lawful basis for processing
We rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:
- Consent โ which you give by submitting your information and documents for the purposes described here;
- Performance of a contract โ to provide the services you have requested;
- Legal obligation โ to meet regulatory and record-keeping requirements; and
- Legitimate interests โ to operate, secure and improve our services in a way that does not override your rights.
4. Your consent
By submitting your information and documents to us, you consent to A & M Nexus Consulting Limited collecting, storing and processing your personal data โ including sensitive data where required โ for the purpose of handling your enquiry, assessment, application or project, and for the related communications and record-keeping described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Sharing for your application
You specifically consent to us sharing relevant information with the parties needed to progress your application โ including universities, colleges, employers, recruiters, our education/immigration partners, and immigration and government authorities โ strictly as required for your application, and, where applicable, transferring it internationally to the country you are applying to. We share only what is necessary, and never sell your data.
6. Security and retention
Your documents are stored on private, access-controlled storage and are available only to authorised staff handling your case. We retain your data only for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet our legal obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights and withdrawing consent
You may withdraw your consent or ask us to stop processing, correct or delete your data at any time, subject to any legal record-keeping obligations and to processing already under way. Withdrawing consent will not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal, but it may mean we can no longer continue with your application. You also have the rights set out in our Privacy Policy (access, rectification, restriction, objection and portability).
8. Complaints
If you believe your data has not been handled in line with this notice, please contact us first so we can put things right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
